Taking my girlfriend out for her first Turkey hunt this weekend. I went and checked an Old spot I used to hunt on the San Juan National Forest near Cortez last weekend, but didn't see much sign at all compared to what I used to see there. Place has always been hit or miss it seems.

Wondering if anyone can point me in a direction where we might get into some birds. Willing to go anywhere in Western Co. just want to get her into some birds.

Little Dominguez drainage in northern unit 62. Follow the snow line up to the aspens, pinyoms and oak transition zones. Anywhere on the Uncompahgre in that 7,000 to 8,000 elevation should be good.
 
There really isn't a snow line on th Unc now. Like Elkasaurus said, any canyon can have turkies. I'd be higher than. 7-8000 feet though.

Saw a big flock of long beards on Love Mesa last year while hunting elk first rifle. About 2 miles up from where Cottonwood road hits Love Mesa road. Saw a few hens down the road that leads to Calhouns cow camp.
