Unit # 6 Moose

Just drew a unit #6 non resident bull moose tag. Just wondering if anyone would be willing to share any intel on the hunt. Not really interested in going guided but would be willing to pay a trespass fee if needed. I would sure appreciate any help anyone is willing to give. Thanks in advance! Sincerely, Mark.

LAST EDITED ON Jun-09-18 AT 02:14PM (MST)[p]First timer on the site, but longtime follower. Panhandle, you are one lucky guy drawing the moose tag. Are you going archery, muzzy, rifle, bull, or cow? I was up in the area 2 weeks ago scoping things out. Let's just say if you pre-scout and hunt hard you will have opportunities. Hope you have help or a packer lined up. That's alot of dead meat to pack out. Not to sound like a wiseguy but make sure you shoot 'em at least a 1/4 mi of the main highway. Good luck and make sure you post some pics. when you score.

Lots of moose and no private needed. Might be easiest to access through Wyoming on highway 230.

Congrats!

I am 15 years, and counting.

Try this, when you get camp set up, visit with all the elk/deer hunters you run across, and ask them for reports on where they have seen Moose.

I think they allow you to exchange your rifle tag for a muzzy or bow tag. I'd do that. I've hunted 6 during rifle and bow and rifle is a zoo unless you have stock to pack you way back in. Have fun.

The moose rifle season is before the deer/elk combined seasons. It's the first two weeks of October. Don't give that tag up! There will actually be less people in the field during moose rifle.

Hi do you still have info on unit 6? I’ve never been there but just applied for second season deer tag there.

Hi do you still have info on unit 6 for deer? Second rifle season specifically? I have never been to the area. Still new to hunting. Thanks!
