A friend drew the non-resident desert sheep tag for 62. Can anyone share some pictures of rams taken from that unit? He isn't looking for advice - he just wants to see some pictures. Thanks in advance.

Congrats on the awesome tag.

Here's mine from 2005.

Congrats to him. Lucky dude. Does he plan on going guided? I know someone that happens to live there in some of the best sheep area in the unit. They happen to own a lot of private in the unit and have granted some trespass to get to the sheep in the past. Not sure if they charge or not but know that they have sheep in there hay fields at times. If you have a guide I'm sure they are aware but if you are going self guided I would share contact. Let me know if you want that info. I have never PM before so would need help with that. Don't want that info spread over this site. Good luck on the hunt. I've happened to see some really large rams in that unit myself so I know it will be good to him.

That is very generous of you - thank you very much. I think he is going DIY at this point. If you click on the email icon, you can send me an email if you'd like. Thank you again.

Is your buddy from California? I had a guy on Rokslide hit me up and he called me for info just seeing if it is the same guy. My dad killed a booner in there in 2009.

LAST EDITED ON Jul-02-18 AT 12:46PM (MST)[p]Just curious ORIONTHEHUNTER, what does it take for a desert to book and what did your dads ram score? And I agree with Shedneck, gotta love those chocolate rams!

Thanks he netted 166 5/8 and made the three year awards, pretty good feat for Colorado. He was nine years old and was 15 3/8 on the bases and just under 33 on both lengths. He carried his mass well which bumped his score.

The application gods were smiling on me again this year... I drew this tag (S62)! Found this thread via internet search. I don't want to take over this thread, but would love to hear how shedneck's friend did on his hunt, etc. Thx! Jim
Congratulations!
