Leftover Tags

Hey fellas, I was hoping somebody might be able to give some guidance as to what the best way to buy the leftover tags is? Online, phone, or in person? I realize they will go fast but I don't know how fast. I appreciate any help so thanks in advance.

I think the best strategy would be to sleep in until about 9:30 or 10, then have a nice leisurely breakfast, and about 10:30 check and see if they have the system back up and running again. Seriously, I would be shocked if it doesn't crash By 9:05 with so many people accessing their website at 9:00 on Tuesday morning but, maybe I'm wrong and they learned from last year?s debacle. ? We shall see....

It'll be crashing for sure. Probably best to take the day off work and hit the refresh button till it gets up again.

Thanks for the replies, so what happens if you go to the wildlife office in person? Do those customers take priority?

LAST EDITED ON Aug-02-18 AT 06:57PM (MST)[p]It crashes and when it comes back on all those good tags are mysteriously gone. It's like a magic trick only there's no mystery to it.

Am I reading it right that if you get a leftover limited draw tag, you don't have to burn your points? For example, I have 7 points and if I get a leftover tag that usually takes just 2 points, I don't want to lose my points.

Correct. The only thing that generates or cost preference points is your first choice in the original draw.

What a joke the Internet sales for left over tags was. 30 minutes of waiting and sold out. Each page took forever to load. Well, going to get an over the counter tag and hunt.

I got on there and like it was stated earlier each page grinded out, but I made my selection and got to the very end of checkout only to find that the quota was filled. What a way to string me along. It was kind of exciting though. good luck to all.
