Hotel/Motel Gunnison Recommendation

Looking for a place to stay during my 3rd season deer hunt. Not lookin for the cheapest just a nice comfortable place that is clean. Hot tub would be a nice option. My bones need that after a long day.

I try to always hunt elk during first season. I stay in 2 different hotels in Gunny for work and elk hunting. The Quality Inn and ABC Motel. They both have hot tubs, though I've never seen the one at the ABC. The pics make me believe it is in a converted room. The Quality tub is adjacent to their indoor pool and it is a great facility.
Both places are within walking distance to downtown and the numerous eateries and adult beverage establishments. I've always stayed at the Quality. I've always wanted to try the ABC and I did for work this summer. I certainly will return. It is a mom and pop operation and the owners are very nice people and the motel was more than adequate. They may be both a bit older rather than newer, but both are clean and the staffs at both are absolutely great.

In years past, the Quality always had "hunter's" rates which made it very reasonable. The advertised rates at the ABC are even lower than the Quality's "hunter's" rates.

I'm a pretty simple guy who needs very few frills and bells and whistles, especially when it comes to hotel accommodations. If you are similar, you can't go wrong with either place. Gunny is a very hunter friendly town. If you end up staying in a hotel for your hunt, that portion of your trip will be very memorable, in a good way. Good luck to you.

Very nice, if you are an everyday kind of a guy, you won't be disappointed. I hate to give out eating recommendations due to leaving out a few. My absolute favorite is the Ol' Miner Steakhouse, hands down. I've never had a bad meal and the atmosphere is very cool. The "woodfired" ( they actually fire the oven with gas) pizza joint and brewery is another must, as is Mario's, though it's a bit more of a walk. The Gunnisack is another great option. I'm sure there are more, and I hate to leave anyone out. Enjoy and hope you knock down your dream buck.

I picked up a first season bull tag in a nearby area and I too have reservations at the Quality. It will be a nice relaxing week, regardless of the hunt outcome.

Mario's is good. W Cafe makes good breakfast. I have stayed at the Western Motel a few times. Good enough for me. Trout pond next door for the kids.
