I drew a 3rd season tag for 68/681/682 has anyone hunted it before? Or does anyone on here live out that way I'm just curious how the horn growth has been this year? Thanks for any info given.

Me and my dad drew the 3rd season deer tag, we hunted the area for elk before and saw a lot of deer and no elk. We made the mistake of chasing the 4th season deer tag unsuccessfully and decided to burn the points this year and weren't disappointed with the decision one bit

You can't end the post right there! LOL. How about some pics?

Well for starters we stayed with a really good friend/former neighbor and had a blast just visiting with them. Was able to get away from work and their BS and to add to it my dad's starting to kind of get up there in age so any hunt with him is a good one. It took us a little while to figure out where they were and once the crowds of opening day started thinning out we started seeing lots of critters. My dad ended getting a heavy 3x2 and I got a decent 3x4. Far from monsters but it was a lot of fun on that hunt

Hello Big Jav-- I'm thinking about putting in for the 4 th deer season this year. Should draw it with 10 points but not sure about the area for trophy bucks-- never been there. What's your opinion on that score ? Last time I deer hunted was 551 in '06 before the roof fell in during the terrible '07-'08 winter around Gunnison. So that's why I have the 10 points. Is 68 / 681 4 th season a good gamble based on what you've seen ? I'd appreciate your thoughts very much !
