I'm interested in hunting Colorado for elk in 2019 no clue how or where to go do I buy over the counter or try for a draw ? Any info would be much appreciated coming from Utah

Throw a dart at a map and go is about my best advice. Look over google earth and figure out which unit fits the bill as far as topography and roads/lack of roads best suite you. Any of the otc units can be productive it just takes some intuition and work on your part to make it happen. Free hand outs on OTC unit spots are not taken lightly by those of us who've spent years dialing them in. But, you might find a few guys that are guallable enough to spill the beans. Bottom line is just pick a general area/group of units and head out this summer and put some hours in on them and get a feel for things.

Not looking for any gullible hunters or spots just from Utah and wanted to know the process never put in for Colorado

Really simple and cheap now days (to buy points) Apps are due typically in early April. You can buy points for all species like most states. My suggestion would be to do a preference point as your first choice and then do a otc archery tag as your second choice.

Also suggest looking at Randy Newbergs channel on You Tube or subscribe to Elk101's University of Elk Hunting as there's a wealth of info there.
