If you seriously think people are going to willingly give out places they have years invested into, so that you can go hunt them with out paying the same dues all of us had to in order to be successful you're sadly mistaken. I get that you're new at this and excited to jump into it and that's great but there are some moral codes about asking for spots, especially on an Internet forum you need to learn that we as hunters have. Some guys might be crazy enough to spill the beans on stuff regarding otc elk hunting though. I would recommend getting a 2019 biggame brochure and getting your head wrapped around the otc elk units and spend some time this this summer learning them, don't worry about applying for anything other than getting another preference point and go buy yourself a 2nd or 3rd season OTC bull tag and hunt a unit you have spent some time in over the summer. Don?t in the least bit expect it to be easy. It might honesty take you multiple years before you are successful at harvesting an elk if you choose to go at without an outfitter or a hunting partner who is experienced.
