Co left over list

Is it possible to see rye 2018 left over tag list? I know it changes every year but maybe looking at old lists you could find a pattern of units. Thanks.

That is really what I am after. Find a unit or 2 to learn while still building points. I will dig into CO page today.

If you are looking at deer, the only tags left over are really, really, really, poor. There are some on east slope that have left overs every year, and they even have them like a month before the season starts. There is a reason they are left over. Poor deer numbers, bad access and lots of people on what is available. It can happen but it is not anything I would waste my hunt time on...

Instead of building points it would be smarter to find a 2-3 point unit and hunt every couple years.

That has been my original plan but my brother (hunting partner) is backing out of our plans in 2019 bc of a new job. I was just looking at options. Or I go hunt my original plan by myself.

My advice, go by yourself, don't miss out on any chance to hunt. If you are hunting on the west slope you are only a phone call away from people who would come help if you have need, myself included.

Thought you were burning the points on a 3rd season tag? As far as a easy non resident tag options 15,18,27,371,31 are about the best option

I'd go with your initial plan and hunt the unit you were planning on going to in the first place. You might luck out and find a gem on the left over or returned tag list but the odds of being the first one to it is slim.

If you hunt this year, you are essentially scouting it for your brother for next year. You could go there 2 years in a row, maybe pick up an elk tag next year is you see any this year?

Thanks for the all the input. I got a month to figure it out. I like the idea of hunting this year myself and then maybe buying a landowner tag next year and joining my brother. I really enjoy this site. Thanks for the offer from the western slope.

Fill in all four choices in order of preference then check the leftover list tag box on your app. I always end up with a buck tag then buy a doe tag on on the leftover sale. May as well eat em before the wolves get here!

This is no joke! I watched the list for two months last yr trying to pick up a deer tag. Every single one that came on the list was gone within literally minutes. I attempted to buy at least a dozen and never got one

In the reg book, any unit that didnt sell out and had left over tags used to have a * astric next to the hunt code. They may have changed that in recent years though.

Can go to Statistics, then Deer, then "Drawn out at"

Each hunt will show if there were leftover and when they were drawn out at.

For example: Leftover, drawn at 2nd option, 120 out of 150

Very useful
