LAST EDITED ON Sep-01-14 AT 06:32PM (MST)[p]Dam I need to start scouting for my strip hunt never been there and Dam there's a lot of country google earth and maps are driving me crazy .

Congrats on drawiing a strip tag! There's a ton of country up there to look over with very few deer. I've never hunted the late season up there, but have been on the archery hunt a few times. The archery hunt can be a very tough hunt even when you do scout and even tougher when your after a big buck. I'm sure on the late hunt the bucks will be out chasing does so it should make for a great hunt! Good luck and let us know how it goes!

I just got back tonight spent 12 days up there in 13a
some giants killed and some giants still walking around what a
year for growth 185 class buck walked on this hunt i will head back up for 4 more days hopefully there will be less pressure.Saw over 70 different bucks.there were a lot of bucks harvested and now they are killing on water success is going to be extremely high this archery hunt.

I hope they save me a big one haha , im not sure were to start but im going to scout a couple times and glass my butt off hopefully I can put something together .

Congrats on the Tag !! What Unit ? If you are not being Guided , getting some great Scouting time in is going to be key . Whether you got 13a or 13b , each Unit holds some Giants this year , been the best year since 2010 !! Your opportunity of Harvesting a Record Book Buck is there , hope that you get an opportunity at least , but w/o much preparation , chances are slim to none . Good luck .

13A , as long as i have fun that's all that counts .I found out there is a lot of scammers out there that want my money and feed you bullshit

zukicrazy , yes there are a couple scammers and there always will be . Despite all that I do not know your personal situation or schedule . Everyone one of us is different living different lives . Due to college Starting last Week my activities on the AZ Strip has slowed down since . However , I still make time out there as thats my passion and priority in life and my Wife supports that .
Maybe some of the reasons you have not been able to get out and scout preseason for the Hunt could be similar , whether you're going to School, Working all the time making ends meet to supporting your Family , whatever it may be , it is what it is .
With that said , if you want help let me know , I will put you in an area that holds a 200"ish Buck , Free info , the whole Boot ! That will save ya a ton of time .
I like to see everyone successful that has that Tag , it's an opportunity of a lifetime that can be remembered for a long time !
I got a Archery Hunter on 13b, whom has been on what is likely the Biggest Typical to date 215"ish . Free Info was provided . He is still in pursuit of the same Buck to this day since the Opener . He's had a few opportunities , just hasn't been able to seal the deal yet . I'm hoping He does , because I admire His persistence and perseverance !

I think a 210 and 220 typical have already been harvested in 13b,
it's good you will turn him on to a 200 inch buck, but i bet the outfitters and there six or seven spotters have seen him as well.

Zuki don't get caught up on all the hype, go on your hunt and have a blast it will get crazy with the outfitters and all there spotters and all the radios it will be insane, it is out of control.my advice to you is go spot light the 2 nights before your hunt find them, and be there at first light.

I had to laugh a little bit when you mentioned spot lighting. We hunted 13B rifle last year and the amount of spot lighting some of the big name guides do up there blew my mind. I guess if it's legal you may as well do it. It's definitely a useful scouting tool.

I have enough points built up to draw 13a archery next year, but all the talk of all these guides running rampant up there has me worried. I am a diy hunter and just want to go hunt without being bothered or harassed by a bunch of hot shot guides. Another thing that bothers me is that it seems every buck up there is being watched. Are there places to get away from these guys? Its been a long time since I have been on the strip, sounds like it has changed a lot.

Went to fast haha, I had a week to scout took me a couple of days to figure out the roads and got a lot of good info from some guides / memebers on here. I Located couple big bucks but when the people started to show up those bucks only came out at dark ,first couple days just ran around on my quad from early am to late night ,the biggest buck I located im guessing was 240. I messed up because the Game and fish officer saw me glassing so we started to talk and I slipped up and told him about the buck I located he was with a family member that had a tag later I found that out because he was glassing same area I found the big buck ,next day there was 5 different guys glassing around me ,so lesson learned I need to shut my mouth , this buck I killed I located him twice on the same knoll, with my daughter first bull hunt coming up I decided to take him, my buddy was telling me to hold out for the other bucks we ran across but I was on 4 back to back hunts with my kids so I didn't want to take a chance going home with tag soup, we seen over a 100 bucks best hunt of my life ,first day we went after the two big bucks never located them, second day we tried this buck on the way to our spot a guide dropped a bunch of camping stuff from the back of his truck so we put it on the side of the road and moved on talk to the guy about his stuff then I parked pulled out the 15's sent my brother and my buddy up high to glass the buck was feeding right below me 400 yard shot and my hunt was over .

LAST EDITED ON Dec-15-14 AT 06:56PM (MST)[p] I almost shot this buck the first day he was a wide 5x5 about 100 yards from us

Very nice Buck, Great end to your story and hunt.
