January Archery OTC Tag Question

Last year you could not buy an OTC tag for the January hunt until January 1st. You also could not buy it on line early because the on line system couldn't separate the current and future year.

My question is:
Has AZ fixed this issue yet or are we going to once again go to wall-mart after midnight to buy a tag to hunt the morning of January 1st?

Don't know about licenses since I hold a lifetime license but I bought an OTC deer permit Wednesday at the local Wal Mart.

I was able to buy my 2014 license and tag on December 27th (2013) at the G&F office????

The OTC tag is good from say jan 1 2015 to dec 31 2015 correct?
I could hunt late season deer this january and then if I didnt fill it I could hunt the open areas during August archery season. Correct?

Yes, and you cuold hunt next December as well if you haven't tagged out by then. Although you need to reference the chart in the regs for which units are open for which hunts.

My wife just picked up her license (good for a year from purchase date) and 2015 deer tag at Sportsman's Warehouse this past weekend.

I called azgfd today to inquire about hunting licenses with the change. I currently have a 2014 license that is good until the end of the year, and want to get a 2015 license before the end of the year for 2015, but didn't want to necessarily wait until New Year's Eve to buy my 2015 license.
When u buy your 2015 license u have a 60 period to select the start date, so for example, I could buy it today, and wait for it to start right before the elk deadline on the 2nd tue of feb if I chose, but Seeing that I have a pig tag and like to be able to shoot a coyote any day of the year, I will have it start jan 1!
I was stoked to see u have a choice to start it when u like cause for me the 1st day of the year is easiest (personally I liked it the way it was before) but can understand that someone may have moved into the state in late nov and wanted to hunt the dec OTC hunts but may have not bought lic because it would have only been valid for 1 month...

The pick your start date is interesting. I asked about that and was told I couldn't do It. Lots of conflicting stuff going on with license/tags since they changed things up.
