AZ Online App hosed again

Seems I keep getting transaction errors after I hit the authorize button at the very end. Interestingly, Cabela's Visa show the $13 app fee approved on their end (more than once now)but the tool reports an error and can't find my app.

Same error on Chrome and IE10 browsers. Going to try a different computer and different card next. Wish me luck.

It happened to me Fri night around 9 pm and then the system crashed and wouldn't let me sign back in. I also got charged on my Cabelas card and got the conformation. Sat I checked the updated payment box and it showed the red triangle ERROR symbol so it didn't hold my info. I re applied on Sat and it worked.
However, when I checked my statement today I had two charges . I also had sent an e mail to F&G
They responded this morning saying to call them. So after 3 hours of re dialing and getting a busy signal I finally talked to a woman that assured me that their system would not allow you to apply twice and that the first charge would later come of my credit card.
I''m sure this happened to a lot of people this weekend as the woman was quite rehearsed with the answers and had absolutely no compassion. I did print all the error messages and the double charges in case their is a problem later.
re apply and if in doubt, check your cc info on the draw page

Yeah. I wasn't worried about over charges just missing the deadline. Started trying my son's app from a different computer and now the errors are before I even get to the CC entry. It died a few times just hitting the apply button this time. When it did get past that, it didn't even populate the hunt license though it took it with me manually entering it.

Think I'll keep trying every 20min or so all night. Hopefully it will work later after folks all go to bed. But I have six apps to do so I could be here a while.

System got better the later it got. By 10pm the last one went through with only a few having to hit the back button once to retry on error.

I did notice that the primary hang was when the tool did the search for the hunt license #. I would hit the continue repeatedly and usually after the third try it would return with the blank field for me to manually enter it. On a couple of them, it would hang forever and I would have to start all over again. Only the first one bombed on the "authorize" button and it seems to be the only one that billed me without actually completing (two extra $13 charges to correct later). Funny thing is that one was mine and I wasn't successful with it until after 10pm and it was the only one that made me restart (kill the web page tab and restart) several times. The kids and wifes apps hung earlier in the process and between lots of back button repeats and continue button repeats eventually brute forced their way thru and finishing before the time limit.

I still can't get in to "change the billing info". Wanted to change the name on my cc on one app (put kids name instead of mine) but the payment went thru anyway and I have a receipt email so I should be good.

Your right about applying earlier. However,I apply in multiple states for my kids and myself. Utah,Nev,CO, CA allow you you sign in once and buy license, points, and or apply for multiple species all with one transaction. I had 9 transactions and 10 charges for AZ.There has to be a better way to build this mouse trap

I applied me and the wife a week and a half ago and it took all of one maybe two min....with the license and receipts printed.

Its still down right now.

One question, it asked for a dept ID #. I bought a license last month and there is no ID#, just a licence #. I tried to use my SS # in the application, I take it that's not the issue?

The website says if I bought a hunting license at a vendor I was issued a dept ID #. Why is that not on the license like every other state?

LAST EDITED ON Feb-10-15 AT 10:24PM (MST)[p]The dept ID can be random generated or your SS. Depends how you setup your account. They have to go back manually and link up accounts for hundreds of people who create new accounts every year 'cause they forgot their previous ID.
Waiting till the last minute on a system you don't know, not something I would do. I assume you called and they pulled your info up and got you going...

So here's the latest. Despite having 6 receipts showing I had successfully entered all 6 apps, I get a call from G&F Tues around 6pm in response to my email on the errors. They are able to see 4 of the apps did go thru (including mine which had the billing errors) and 2 that didn't (despite them billing me and sending me a receipt that includes the hunt nos on it). Said they would take care of it.

Thur mng they leave a message to call them back and finally Thur late afternoon someone answered the phone. The lady indicated this year had been a complete mess and there were lots of these to go fix (I got the impression its in the hundreds to thousands.) I also kept checking all day for the two in error (wife and one son). That's when I noticed the extension. I wish I knew about it Tues/Wed, I would have update the two in question. The system still couldn't find them on Thurs when I used the "update my payment info" button so I knew G&F hadn't done anything yet.

For my app, They had to credit back the 2 extra app fee charges. (Yup 8 charges for 6 apps on my cabelas visa.)
For my wife and son, which she was going to manually enter the info on a "paper app" so that they get processed like all the other "paper apps". The women also suggested that they will have to call me for the CC number if they get drawn since it won't be in the system. You can bet I'll be on pins and needles trying to make sure someone is around to answer the phone. I am hoping that somehow the system will let me in after they complete the paper app process to add a CC or that it will at least email me for payment not just call.

Seems like there may be a lot of folks at risk of paper app errors now or of missing the phone call(s) for payment.

So I applied for elk and antelope as a non resident, have a slug of points.

It was about to let me walk off a cliff and not purchase the current year hunting license. I back up and bought the license and then applied. I have the application charges on my card but no license charge. Glad I printed out the license number and receipt.

I called in and after a lengthy wait she tells me all should be fine.

Did anyone else have this problem? Do you see license fee charges on your card?

.300 Have friends who walked off that cliff...time will tell.
I bought my $160..on Jan 12th.. Then applied for elk on the 25th 2015/2016 license # came up no problems, printed receipts checked card, I should be good to go.

The guys who applied with their 2014/2015 license # instead of a new 2015/2016 ???? I think they are done for the year and lost their loyalty point..

Thanks Tomichi. I just check my card again, and checked the view current charges, and indeed the $160 was pulled the day I applied for elk.

That's a relief. Usually AZ's application is pretty smooth. The lady I spoke to said they have issues with the system, and that they had multiple things trying to get worked out.

Has Arizona considered using the Hunt Nevada company that Utah and Nevada uses?

In my opinion, it's the best on line application process in the west that I have experienced.

Good Luck to all that applied. I am hoping to make 2015 a awesome hunting year.

10 years or so ago AZ used a company out of Falen Nevada or something like that. When we did the system worked great.

If memory serves me, AZ had an online application system for 3 or 4 years then we went back to paper apps only. We did the paper apps for 4 or 5 years and then went back to an online system. They have used various outside contractors until they went in-house over the past year. Nothing has worked as well as the nevada folks. I think they switched because they charged a $3 or $4 per applicant service charge.

Good Luck to everyone that applied.

I applied for an elk bonus point on Feb 8. I tried to purchase a 2015-2016 license, but the system wouldn't allow me to. It showed my current 2014-2015 as still valid; expiring on Feb 11. I tried 3-4 times to purchase a new license, but I wasn't allowed to go to the link. Hopefully I get my point...

LAST EDITED ON Feb-15-15 AT 06:16PM (MST)[p]You'll be fine.
With a valid license, you would need to go to the main licensing page and purchase a new one there. Just buying a point and not hunting in 2015, you don't need to purchase a new license.

That was Systems Consultants out of Fallon, NV. I believe they still do the draw for Nevada and Utah, quite flawlessly IMO.

Watipi,

So if I apply for PP only next year before my license expires, I'm all good?

I'll probably buy the license and apply but I was thinking about the wife and son. I could apply them for PPs every other year for a minimal charge and eventually they'll draw with cheaper PPs.

Utah lets us get away with that..........for now.
