I watched the live auction last night from the Western hunting show . They broke all kinds of records last night . It was insane!!!
The AZ Mule Deer tag took off like a rocket . And before you knew it it was landing on $320000 !

It's a Paradox , Unbelievable but
true!

The will be an even bigger army on the Strip this year.

"You can fly a helicopter to the top of Everest and say you've been there. The problem with that is you were an a$$hole when you started and you're still an a$$hole when you get back.
Its the climb that makes you a different person". - Yvon Chouinard

Here's the thing its a guy who could careless if its $100,000 or $300,000 . He can afford it either way! And probably all ready determined he was buying !

Yes,that is the truth I saw the army up there last year!

FYI, the money that is spent for a tag for a certain animal,i.e. mule deer, ALL that money goes into the fund for that species only!

That $320,000 will go into DEER only projects!

No ticki-birds, no small game projects, just DEER.

Same goes for ALL of Arizona's big game auction tags, elk, sheep, antelope, turkeys, javelina...

Even the groups that do the promoting the tags don't get any of the money.

My hat is off to all the conservation groups that sell these auction and raffle tags for the citizens of Arizona and the Arizona Game & Fish Department.

If the people who like to bird watch and such, put their money where their mouth is, and not depend on just the Department's Non-Game branch to fund their chosen activity, it would be a win-win for them too.

The same kid bought the AZ tag and antelope island tag for another 390k. Article said he was a 24 year old guide in Canada? Must guide just for fun if he has that much money to spend on two hunts!!

Would like to read the article....If I had that kind of money Id buy the tags too....Sept - Nov would be a hunting dynasty...

Yea Don it goes back to the deer ,but it may stay in the G&F bank account for years before they allot it to what ever projects they like? How many gamewaters on the strip and kaibab and other units that don't work or need replaced---MANY.And if you ask Todd or Luke they say that they put in for funds and it just gets put in the mire of crap at G&F!!!!!Hey if the wolves needed water they would get it this week!!!!!
