Coues Rut in Mid AZ

Are they rutting yet?

Heading to unit 23 for sons tag on Monday. Dont have a lot of choices about when we can go, because we have to be back by the weekend for his basketball, but, hoping they are rutting.

I was in 6B/8 just a little north of your tag. Found very few rubs to speak of, and no scrapes at all. Lots of tracks on the trails and around waterholes. The Booner buck I killed was trailing two does up the canyon, so it is definitely pre-rut.

Thanks, sounds like we may get some rut activity by Tuesday when we start hunting. Love to see pics of your buck

Son got a small 8 point on the hunt. We learned a lot, and had 3 days of rain and fog.
We hope to get back there and get a big boy some day.
