Hi all. I was wondering if any of you know whether you can archery hunt with a misdemeanor DV background? I know gun is out of question but I told my friend he should still be able to archery hunt. Just wondering if anyone knows or has had experience with this type of situation.

Thanks
Steve

Honestly, before I'd ask on the internet, I would have him contact the district attorney's office for legal clarification. Each state is different and terms and conditions vary regarding firearms (and sometimes any weapon) possession. Good luck.

Nope, you can legally hunt with a bow in AZ if you have been convicted of domestic violence and are a prohibited possessor of firearms.

Also if you've been convicted of any felony you are a prohibited possessor of firearms.

Let's see, I can think of at least THREE guys in Kingman who are bowhunters and have been convicted for domestic violence and/or are convicted felons!

For that very reason, when I was a police officer I was very careful in arresting someone just because we got a call.

Now I understand that some department's have some kind of policy that says if they get a call, someone go to jail!
