Kid in a candy store!

Anyone have these thoughts picking elk choices this year? I feel like the kid in a candy store with only half the $. I feel my odds are better picking my second choice hunt that's been drawed recently, or close, with my 10 pts. Now I am second guessing, and thinking go all inn? Crap shoot either way, and no guarantee for max guys. So what do you think, roll the dice?

Well the list is short as to what a NR could draw with 10 elk points in the bonus pass. Even worse now!
I guess what I am asking in better terms. I want out of the points scheme, but then again the way the new draw is set up, A guy has a chance at the better units. Kinda dam if you do, and dam if you don't. 9 Archery 1st choice for sure..then 2nd has me stumped.

Here's what you should do put in for a late archery any unit, then you will out of the points game for sure or if you love unit 9 so much do the late rifle hunt in unit 9, then you can chase all those unit 9 bulls with your rifle. Never know, maybe lightning will strike and you'll get one. The bulls aren't that big down here in the other units besides unit 9 so if you don't feel like you can draw it you should stick to states like Utah where draw odds are so much better and the bulls are bigger in most units.

Good one Tooele...I'm not trying to throw away 10 pts just yet. I have yet to apply for Utah

Tooele is just what his name suggests. A tool. He doesn't know what he is talking about and rarely has something useful to say. Just ignore him.

10 points is getting up there and can get you some decent tags but if you can wait a few more years you can get some really good tags. You've waited this long wait it out another 3-4 years for a once in a lifetime tag. Well see how the draw odds are affected this year by the changes and you'll have a better idea of what's within reach.

Im only a tool when the dude has no idea what he is talking about and is acting like a tool. If he had done some research or wasn't just going off what someone told him, I may be more helpful. Bone collector not sure your information is real helpful to him either. 10 points he has quite a few very good options actually. I videoed a bull this year that is pushing 390 in a unit and during a hunt he could actually draw with less than 10 points. The bull will be there again next year i'm sure, its still alive. It's nowhere near unit 9. If you actually look at some of my posts I'm very helpful if you have done even the smallest amount of research. Sorry somehow I bothered you bone collector.

Good luck

So birdog - toole whatever your handle is? Your basically calling me a dumbass because I choose to roll the dice? Last time I checked unit 9 and 1 are a pretty good choiced for anyone?

On second thought PM me Birdog. If I remember right we have talked before. Remember 2B NM 2012? Yea I do, I went out of my way to help you, and this is the thanks I get?

I think Tooele forgot he was signed into his other account when he posted. Kinda weird you have two accounts to post from. I'm simply saying your post to junior was stupid and not helpful. He is asking for help and your response was completely unhelpful and made him look like an idiot. I'm glad you have some units you can find 390 Bulls in that don't take 10 points. Congrats. A big bull can come from any unit in AZ. I'm simply saying the units like 1, 27, 3c, 9, 10, 23 etc. All take more than 10 to be guaranteed to draw. Can you run into a 400 bull on a 5, 4, 6 unit hunt? Of course you can. Is it common? No it isn't. If you have waited 10 years to build up 10 points why jump the gun and get a unit that you hope by some miracle you find a big bull when you can wait another year or two and be almost guaranteed to be able to find a big bull. That's all I'm saying.

What's weird is when you respond to you own post with a different user name! Or even better yet. When you PM yourself from a different user name!
