Lasik Surgery and Kamra Inlay Procedure

Thinking about having Lasik with the Kamra inlay. Has anyone had these done? Can you tell me the pros and cons of the procedures? Thanks.

My wife has done the majority of the Lasik, cataract, and corneal chair-side assisting for two amazing surgeons here in Idaho over the previous 25 years. She has been the primary laser technician for approx. 22,000 surgeries. While the Lasik method is proven with an amazing track record, KAMRA Inlay process is pretty new and doesn't have a huge following among surgeons yet. The right thing to do is determine if you are even a candidate, what is your age, lifestyle, and expectations are for it. Then talk personally to several physicians who are specialists in that field. It is performed on your non-dominant eye, but there can still be many issues to work thru.

I had Lasik about 13 years ago. It was well worth the $.

Before Lasik I'd lose my glasses when I set them down and forgot where I put them. Too blind to find them. Now I have 20-15 vision in both eyes, and no glasses or contacts to deal with. In my 40s now, and still no indication of my vision degrading.

The only side-effect is that I may have developed a little more sensitivity to light afterwards and prefer to where sunglasses when out in the sun now. Probably better to wear sunglasses, anyway.

Only suggestion I'd have, would be to avoid cheap doctors. If you can spend a little more money and get someone that is experienced and well-respected, then I'd say do that. It's worth it.
