Heading out tomorrow for my sons first elk hunt(with a tag in his pocket instead of mine!) Hoping for a nice one! Good luck to everyone, hopefully they are bugling big time!

Goodluck guys, I will be wondering how you do. I'll have enough points to draw that tag pretty soon.

I heard the rut has been going really strong in 3a3c, have you guys been in them good? Still quiet here in western AZ...

I heard the first morning was great but I've been out in 3c the last couple days and it's been really slow. Heard two bugles last night after it got dark. This was near Heber. Think a few more days and they should be going great. I know of some nice Bulls being killed in nearby units but guys are sitting water because they aren't bugling much.

We are back, they were talking on Thurs night, but Fri morning nothing, we worked a few miles of canyons, and ended up sitting water early as we heard not one bugle, had good luck and a nice bull came in, very heavy, Not bad for your his elk hunt ! We heard a few bugles while we were packing out the meat the next morning, and a few more Sat eve, and Sun morning, but very few. We saw one more decent 6 point on Sat. eve. I bet they will be going soon as it was real warm but supposed to be cooling down. trying to post a picture, but having no luck, I will try again later or if someone emails me I will send it to them to post! Good luck to everyone

Send me the pic and I'll post it for you [email protected]

Was out this morning and they seemed to be bugling decent. Got in close to two groups and both Herd Bulls were tiny things. Lucky if they were 300 inches. Not a good sign. Hopefully they picked up cows from bigger Bulls that got shot and it's not the norm.

Congrats man. I'm really digging the bull's left side. Palmated main beam, Forked third and broken fifth, lots of character. Not to mention he's quite heavy as well. Damn near a 6x8.
