This whole adventure started last January when I acquired about some Coues units for my son who was graduating high school... And I had some fantastic people respond with some great info and I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for this... You guys are welcome in my camp anytime...

Opening day came with a nice little 3x3 with eye guards at 652yds. now my son aka "billcollector" has practiced out to 700yds with his rifle but shooting targets and actual hunting condition are two different things you'll now this... So he opted to pass on this buck... Well three days into the hunt after passing on that buck we had only been able to glass up three little spikes... So you can imagine at 19yrs old and hunting a new species in new country he was starting to regret passing on that opening day buck..

Well monday night comes along day four its been really windy today with not a lot of deer movement... Finally with about an hour left before sundown the wind dies down... I start glassing some does, there's one, there's two, there's three and so on... Finally I find one that needs a little more attention we get the spotting scope out sure enough its a decent buck laying in his bed... I ranged him at 750yds. no wind a perfect place to lay down and drop the bi-pod and take a shot... Well I'm looking through my binos and tell billcollector whenever your comfortable let her fly... So with light fading fast he lets her go boommmmm.... Thump deer flopping in his bed... Hell yaaaaaa I give my boy a tap on the head and he says he's up.... WTF I get in my binos sure as sh!t he's up standing broadside looking at the ground... I said you better hit him again... Boommm, thump deer is down for the count on that one.... Now at this point its pretty much dark and we're in new country that's thick as he!!... Its getting down to 30 degrees at night so I decide to let him sit over night and come in early to get him... I'm here to tell you that was one sleepless night for me... The rain/snow came in and my mind started to race thoughts of him getting up and moving and not being able to track blood, even though I watched him expire in my binos my mind was taking me other places... Well it finally was time to wake up billcollector and go retrieve his buck... It took us an 1 1/2hrs. to get in there and we walked right to him...

First shot hit him right in the brisket and took out one lung the second hit him right in the hind qaurters taking out his back legs...

I've been on a lot of hunts but this one tops them all!!! It was a fantastic adventure...

Oh and I was able to get one as well... The boy out done me and thats just how I would have written the script!!!

TIKKA........COOL LOOKING BUCK, & GOOD STORY. LOOKS LIKE YOU FELLAS HAD A BLAST OF A HUNT. CONGRATS........YD.

Congrats to you Utah boys. You both both owned it by going from those big mule deer to these little guys and the hard work that you casey put in. Puts a big smile on my face to see your success on two great first time bucks. congratulations again you two...

Nicely done, Billcollector got it done with style, We saw a really good Muley up in 22 during the elk hunt. I like those little WT. Tell him to put a pheasant hunt on that to do list,
