Elk and Antelope Draw

It sure is quiet on here - I expected it to be a little busier given that some folks think that we may start seeing credit card hits this week. Any word?

Good point. With 7 points for elk I can't count on a tag, but I drew a Kaibab early rifle deer tag with three points, so you never know. I have one elk archery choice that I atleast have a shot at.

Thought the CC hits would start next week. Definitely wouldn't be disappointed if they started this week. I thought I was close to drawing an elk tag in the unit I'm after, but doubt is setting in now lol! Can't wait for the results.

Since the outdoor expo isn't until the 25th-26th, I'm guessing the earliest we'll see CC hits is late next week. Maybe even the week after the expo. I try to keep my expectations low so I'm not too disappointed:)

With the deadline for updating CC's and the same deadline to add 'point guard" both being at 11:59PM on the 16th...can't see why the drawing wouldn't happen within the next couple of days? My guess....Thursday-make sure all CC and Point Guard updates are logged in. Friday is THE DAY!

Unless something has changed, they start hitting cards Friday morning.
If your card is bounced, you'll still get a point, and you keep your loyalty point.

When I look at my group application in the portal it says 0 individual bonus points for myself and the other person I applied with. He had 9 points and I had 10. Wondering if they were not entered correctly!

Most of us at this point are pretty much expecting a Friday start because of the new credit card policy.

I had an epic archery bull hunt last year in 7W, a friend and I had my credit card charged for 2 tags last Friday. Our 1st choice was early archery bull in 7W! Can't wait for the results!

The AZGFD draw progress graph was changed today to 80% completed, meaning they're finished processing charges and now working on results preparation.
Good luck out there!

The results are up on the Portal if you have an account.
I got early archery Bull in 5B South! Got luck in the random draw.

Congrats on a great tag. If you are planning to use a guide I can tell you who to use and who to absolutely NOT use. I'd kill to have that tag in my pocket again this year.

Well the verdict is in I applied for 9 and 3C, and 3C it is, I booked with Steve Chappell immediately after the bank was hit. So what is the word on 3C, any thoughts? Does doing whatever it takes to hunt the edges of the reservation make sense? Is that border tough to get to? I fully trust Steve and I'm so looking forward to the hunt regardless of how it shakes out. From a kid in S Texas reading about hunting in AZ and listening to an uncle that was a highway patrolman in the late 6o''s I've never forgotten that country...win lose or draw I'm all in. Been running in this S Texas heat since before I drew just in case; so for a 60+ yr old guy still ready to get it on I can't wait.
Sorry for the rant, pinch me, still can't believe I'm hunting elk in AZ, with Steve no less...
I'm done ;)

Another year, another U-succ. Good-luck to all you guys who drew! Seems like a number of people drew random tags with less than the required points. Definitely makes things more exciting.
