22 south late rifle

My buddy drew 22 south late rifle and is looking for a little info, hes hunted 9 late 4 times and has been a part of more elk kills than everyone I know.

Any Idea what to expect as far as bulls and places to start looking. I'd be more than happy to trade Oregon information in return.

Find all the tall hills and glass from the Golf course south.
Just find the tallest hill that gives the best view, Bring the best glass you can beg borrow or steal. and set them on a solid tripod. They are there during the late season.

Had that hunt 2 years ago missed a mature bull one night in a deep nasty hole that I think my sub conscious missed on purpose and connected on a smaller bull the next morning. I saw a couple bigger bulls across canyons. It I hadn't brought any repelling gear or a helicopters

the elk will be high, deep, and in the thick stuff.

this hunt will be a lot of work if you want to be successful. hunt well wooded bowls and canyons with water north of mount ord, to the border of the unit.

the area south of the golf course is an ok place to start, so everybody will be starting there with you. but there may still be a bull or two way back in there.
