So for anyone who has hunted the 12AW late hunt and or 13B what are the average elevations that you would be hunting. I know on the 12AW late hunt some of the Deer migrate in but not sure how low they drop.

The 12AW late hunt the deer will drop down in elevation 5k-7k if it's cold/snowy, but can be scattered from 5k-9k if it's warm. Some deer might even drop lower. In 13A/B most of the unit is in the 5k-6k elevation, so deer can be anywhere at those elevations. Some deer are still in the higher mountain peaks during the hunt.

You will be hunting between 4,500' an 6,500' on either hunt could hunt higher if you want but no need. I hunted both last year and personally had the 13B rifle tag, this year is going to be awesome. Don't over look the archery strip hunt also. Let me know if you have any questions.

Buckhorn, I killed a great buck on the hunt. I had 28 days into scouting prior to the hunt starting in July. There will be some awesome bucks this year for anybody with the tag.

I hunted 13b last year as well (2016.)
Unfortunately I did not see a buck I wanted to take. After all those years of waiting to draw that tag it just didn't happen for me.
Glad to hear you had a successful hunt. Do you mind sharing your story or some pics please?
Thanks

Oil,

I hunted the 12AW early hunt in about "92." Got snow on the top. New deer migrated in daily, as low as you can hunt in that unit.

PM me if you draw the 12 A tag.
