Bear in 18b

Hello, I'll be hunting deer with my bow in 18b this year and while going through Arizona's regulations i saw there is a bear hunt for 18. Anyone ever seen bears in that unit? I don't have to deal with this in Nevada so hubtunf along side bears will be new to me. Also in Nevada I can carry a pistol with a barrel shorter than 6 inches during my bow hunt and Arizona doesn't do a good job specifying this rule. I would like to take my pistol for sure but don't want any problems. Figure I would reach out on here before I called fish and game.

We have been hunting 18b since the late 60's and have yet to see a bear. I've seen some scat but never a bear. Now, mountain lions, that's a different story.

You can carry any legal handgun you want while hunting in AZ. Don't worry about the bears. Very few problems away from civilization and we only have black bears, no grizz.
