Navajo Deer Unit 11

Guys have any of you hunted unit 11 on the Navajo Rez before for deer or been in the unit hunting anything before? Do you know anyone I might contact that knows something about this unit? Huge area and I have zero idea where to start. Thank you so much!

Did you draw archery or rifle, and where's unit 11?

I have a rifle tag and my tag does not require a guide to hunt. Unit 11 is...sort of in the middle of the rez extending north northeast into Utah and borders CO...if that helps.

Hunting in the non-core deer units are pretty tough, they have low deer population. Most of unit 11 is pretty arid. I'm guessing from the hunt(rifle??)date, its a migration hunt. Some of the late hunts are held to hunt animals coming off of state lands. I would be looking at areas north of the San Juan River. Best of luck.

My wife drew a DG9 tag (rifle deer) this year. I have never hunted on the reservation but i know there are some good bucks out there. I do know that the deer are in pockets, and don't migrate too far. I will keep yall posted as it gets closer. Good luck.
