It has been a decade since I drew this last. Had a great enough hunt to want to go back. I have a few areas to look at. With that said, anyone been out there in the last few years with some experiences or advise as to their hunt or quality bulls or numbers areas. Last hunt, I ended up taking a beautiful 6x6 (320). I would love to get a little bigger bull but if i came home with a bull like that, I would be very happy. Please PM me. I will not spill your info all over the internet but will use it to have a great hunt and possibly get a personal best bull. Thanks. Steve

Congrats on finally drawing another bull tag. Country wise, not much has changed.

Probably not quite as many elk in there as the last time you hunted it, but still quite a few out there, along with the usual unit 8 big bulls.

Pressure is worse than ever. Not only hunting pressure, but all the weekenders escaping the heat. That time of year everyone is chasing bulls around, whether they're hunting or just trying to get pics or video. Unit 8 has turned into a great place for the weekend campers. That forest really fills up these days.

Tuff to sit a water too, lots of folks driving trucks, atv's, utv's, motorcycles, whatever. Always someone coming by.

Elk are usually pretty call shy, and tend to get quiet shortly after daylight, just because someone is always trying to move in on them.

Not trying to give you only bad news, you can still kill great bulls out of this unit! If your limited on time, I would look at hitting it mid week after all the weekenders go home.

We'll be in there this year, maybe we'll run into you. If we have some info, I'll pass it on then.

Good luck, post us up some pics when you connect!

BTW, great feed year with the wetter winter. It's showing on the horn growth!

I'm not one to chase Outfitters, but if I see you in a truck I'll stop and say hi. Hope you have a great hunt as well
