"Anyone hunt or guide on the Haulapai"

LAST EDITED ON Sep-26-17 AT 11:45 AM (MST)

Hey guys! A buddy of mine was just offered a management elk hunt on the Haulapia reservation. Not sure if it includes a res guide or if he needs his own yet. Trying to get more info.
Just curious if anyone has hunted it before or has any recommendations on a guide. The hunt is supposed to take place Oct 7th.

Thank you!

I have hunted the Hualapai for the past 14 years or so. My dad killed a 450 plus bull up there a couple weeks ago. I have only hunted the management hunt once.

You must have a tribal guide for the big game hunts. A management bull is considered a mature 5x5 or deformed antlered Elk which has an off set pedicle. We saw several very nice deformed bulls on my dads hunt.

Pm me if you want info on guides up there.

Michael

I haven't hunted there but know of a few that have. Never heard of the management hunt. It's a great place to go if you can. The landscape contractor we use goes up there and kills big Bulls often.

Where is the Hualapai? The only one I know of is the mountain range outside of kingman. Is it close to that?

Hualapai reservation is about 45 minutes east of Kingman on highway 66.
