My family moved to the Phoenix area and I'm an avid hunter, I was wondering what unit would be best to hunt deer in around that area, mule deer or Coues it doesn't matter to me. Any information is appreciated.

Generally, the coues deer hunting is best south of Phoenix (near the border). The mule deer hunting is best north of Flagstaff. There are exceptions but you're probably going to have to get boots on the ground to find the deer near Phoenix.

270 Coues is probably your best bet down south. We have been in a severe drought and deer hunting is tough.I heard good things about Coues last year.Good luck getting drawn.

24A/24B have been good to me in the past. My partners swear by 31/32 a little further south.

If your an archery hunter, double up and go early season for Deer and Javelina. You will have to draw Javelina, but deer is OTC.
