I will be a resident applying with 3 points for an early archery hunt. Which unit do you guys like better and why? I am open to other suggestions too. I am not after a trophy unit. Just the chance to call at a bugling bull. Willing to walk 10 miles a day to avoid crowds.

6A probably has more elk than any unit in AZ, they give out alot of tags for archery. Its a big unit compared to 6b. I have never hunted 6b, but I have 6a for early archery & we were in elk & only saw 2 other hunters in a week.

6A.............not even close...# of elk, size of unit............YD.

6a has a lot more elk and a lot more hunters. I think I read once that 20% of the entire AZ elk herd is in 6a. I have hunted 6b two times and they are the only hunts I have been on were I saw WAY more 6X6 bulls than rags & spikes and the bull cow ratio was about 2 cows for every bull.
