Another loyalty point question

In short...my question is: When exactly is your Loyalty point added to (or available ) on your application. I know you get one after applying for 5 consecutive years BUT does that get applied on you 5th year of applying, which would add a point for that year...or after the draw and for the next year?

Heres what the regs say: if an applicant submits a valid application at least once a year for a hunt permit-tag or bonus point for that species consecutively for a 5?year period. An applicant retains the loyalty bonus point once accrued as long as the applicant continues to submit a valid application for that species at least once a year.

It adds that you get that Loyalty point once they receive a valid application for 5 years in a row. QUOTE: A valid application is one that has all required fields completed, is submitted with sufficient fees, and is legible.

This would seem to indicate that you would indeed get your Loyalty point upon acceptance of a valid application on your 5th year. But, some have advised that you do get it at that time...but it cannot be used in the drawing until the next year???

Called the main office and received replies on both sides of this? :)

I was told that your fifth year application, while filled out properly and all fees paid to be considered valid, is not really accepted until the completion of the draw process. Then when they apply and update the points you have earned, they will apply your loyalty point also.

This leads me to the confusing part...as one of the Folks told me you get your Loyalty point "upon acceptance" of your 5th valid application. She then added that the point would added to that years application and draw cycle. So...the only way you can be in the draw is IF you submit a valid application.

I'm not sure but once you get it never miss the draw. I have 15 points right now but should have 16 because I missed a year and they took my loyalty away and then I had to go 5 more years to get it back. I'm sure you'll get the answer to your question but never miss a year or you'll start over.

LAST EDITED ON Jan-17-19 AT 11:32PM (MST)[p]All points are issued after the successful completion of the draw (in case you get bounced for credit card, etc), so after the 5th years draw has been completed, you will receive that years point (#5) and the Loyalty point (#6). Make sure you get the Hunter Ed point as well.

I agree it does sound confusing in the regs. I'm applying for the 4th consecutive year now, elk and deer. Thinking about adding coues this year. I've had a hard time going that far for a coues, but from what I hear, it is easy to get hooked on them!

At least in AZ, once you apply for one species, the second, third, etc. is only another 15 bucks. Don't think I'm gonna enter the sheep game though.

Let us know if you get the loyalty point this year.

OP

After your 5th year you will see the loyalty point in your account. It doesn't count towards the application for the 5th year.

Kool,

Coues deer points are the same as mule deer points. It's just deer points.

Not sure your correct on your points. I screwed up one year and and didn't get the bounce point and they took the loyalty point form me, so you should be 2 points behind.
