Snow 5B Bull Hunt

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving.. So I have not had a chance to do scouting since mid October. How is the Elk hunting looking, I am guessing these cold temps and snow streams we have gotten and are to get should help. What are you Guys seeing?

Update: hunted three days hard so far and only seen one cow. Not the hunt I expected. Any info would be greatly appreciated

Morning..have been hunting the Deadman and rattle snake pass off of 112. Passed up six bulls on Saturday that were small. I would suggest those two areas. Bulls are there just a matter of timing and luck.

This hunt is nothing what I was expecting I have never seen so many lion hunter and trucks for a hunt. Finally today the traffic was cut down and we finally found some bulls.
But not the same unit I remember as a kid browning up hunting this unit. Use to see hundreds now lucky to see one .

Yup..86 tags plus land owners..and then you got your Culprit poachers who killed a large 5x5 in the llaves area early this morning sawing the horns off just taking them. What cowards they are for doing so. At least Game & Fish sold the meat that was still edible to an old folk who was hunting that unit and sure made his day.

F@%&ing cowards! I love 5b, family used to own a ranch in Llaves. Still spend a ton of time up there. My roots I guess. Hard unit but love the abuse of those mountains.

Game and Fish sated it was a large 5x5 found off road 515 in llaves.Any information contact them. Its too bad we wait for these hunts to come, pay for a license and these scumbags rob us from the wildlife, just taking the horns. Wish them the worst and hope they eventually get caught.

LAST EDITED ON Dec-22-16 AT 10:04AM (MST)[p]Someone saw them I was on that road the first two days allot of road hunters off 515 I actually heard that someone had killed a big bull off Simon road on Tuesday evening. I was coming down from wolf drew and was looking at a buck when a guy stop to talk. Wonder if these bulls are connected. Someone had to have seen something!
