Got some excellent and unexpected news this morning. NR, unguided, coming from Nevada. Anyone care to share photos or stories of past hunts?

Thank you for the offer. That's very kind of you. I'm not looking for places to hunt or anything like that, but again, that's a very generous offer. I just like to see pictures and hear stories about hunters' experiences. Did you harvest a bull? Do you mind sharing pictures and a story?

PM Leftturn he can give you some ideas. We took his dad out on that hunt several years ago, but he took a decent bull. Ended up in Trophy Hunter magazine with the story.

My father and I drew that tag in 2010 with a guide. It was very windy and they were not bugling at all and the moon was full.

We both shot smaller bulls later in the hunt. I spent 3 days trying to figure out how to get on an estimated 370 but there was no approach to the ridge he was on.

We sat water where we'd seen a bull before in the afternoon, and had a bear come in to water. My bull came in and they had a stand off. If I had a bear tag it would have been quite a double. As it was the bear nearly tried to walk right over us and I shot my bull with a bear about 8 yards from me. Not the biggest bull but a trophy story to be sure.

We stayed near Collins park because they had a hunter in C also - I would stay north and east of there if I went again.

Thank you for the reply. Looks like amazing country. The picture of you with the bear is equally amazing. I'm guessing the bear tags are draw only, huh?

But you can't hunt it the day you buy if I'm not mistaken. I think it's 2 days after buying that you can hunt? I'd have to check to be certain.

>Bear is OTC in that unit.

The rain usually comes in after the antlers are full grown. On very rare years the rain will come early. Cross your fingers.

I will be there in the first rifle hunt. I plan to scout like a madman. I can keep you posted and congrats on the draw!

Thank you very much. I'd definitely appreciate an update. Are you a resident? Either way, we got really lucky!!! Congratulations.
