rattlesnakes??

Headed up to scout Unit 2B for my sons youth hunt in August. How bad are the rattlesnakes that time of year?

I had no idea they were there. I hunted the muzzeloader hunt but went on a scouting trip in July. Nearly stepped on a small rattler and I was not expecting it all. I covered lots of ground and didn't see any others but they are there. I wouldn't let it consume you. Had a huge tarantula join us in the tent (tipi, open floor) during the end of Sept hunt. That was fun. Resident deer are tough to locate that time of year...or at least they were for me.

I wouldn't worry about it at all. Been there lots and lots of times over the years and just saw my first rattlesnake up there a few weeks ago. Not to say you shouldn't be aware but I wouldn't let it concern you.

Hunt Hard. Shoot Straight. Kill Clean. Apologize to No One.

Cool Deal. I'm use to Dealing With them in Mexico. Was Just wondering How much we needed to worry about With My Son Going.

I forgot about snakes in that area, we scouted that unit in September a couple years back and saw a bunch of prairie rattlers on Ule point just below the well site there. I'm guessing that that area is a wintering spot for snake's.
