unit 15 1st muzzy

Well i have a nephew i am buying a landowner tag for unit 15 wide elk this year so he can kill his first bull!
So my question is are the elk still rutting on that 1st muzzy hunt? thanks for any info you might have for me.

Many times that is the peak in 15. That's why the draw odds suck so bad.

I hunted this unit in 2012. They were screaming their heads off the first three days, (Oct 5-8) of the hunt. I think the next year they moved the dates back though so they might be tapering off, pending pressure. The last two days of my hunt, I did not hear a bugle. went off like a light switch. was weird.

I drew the second archery this year and will be happy to let you know what I see during my hunt.

LAST EDITED ON Jun-03-17 AT 08:08AM (MST)[p]I drew unit 15, 2nd smoke pole in 2015, they were vocal in the early AM, nothing in the PM so I'm thinking your smokepole hunt should be a blast.
