my 12 year old son has a unit 15 elk tag for youth muzzy. i haven't been there in a couple years and was wondering how much the unit has changed. are the wolves really having a impact or will it be a couple more years before we really notice the affect they are having? he is from out of state and unlikely to draw again. how is the antler growth and moisture? thanks preston

Getting very green.Lots of rain.
Elk in great condition.
Wolves are having an impact,but so do road & atv hunters....lol
Guys driving around asking where the elk are,and they are on prints & the elk are a couple hundred yrds away...lol

That is a good hunt I hear.

My 15 year old has this same tag. Elk looking good, healthy and horn growth wise. Traditionally, this is an excellent hunt with very good bugling action, hopefully the elk stick to tradition! Huge unit and only 25 tags during the rut has the makings for a fun hunt. The only issue my son has run into is his football coach isn't too happy about the possibility of him missing up to 3 days of practice! Oh well, the likelihood of getting this tag again is slim to none. Will be a late night driving to Reserve after Friday nights game, but we will be in place on opening morning!
