Hi all, I'm invited for a ride along on a youth oryx hunt at rhodes, where is the most convenient place to stay for gate access? Is there camping near by like at the stallion gate or is it best to hotel it? Thanks and good luck this year

There is a small area outside of the gate but when I was there it was filled with Taxidermist and meat coolers and there wasn't any space left to pull a camper. We ended up staying in Tularosa at a paid camp site.

The taxidermist park on the side of the road close to the gate. You can camp on blm east of where they setup. Or you can get a room on the north end of Alamo and only takes about 15-20 minutes to get to the gate.I would also recommend checking out the doughnut shop heading east out of Tularosa on 70. They have some good doughnuts and and breakfast burritos that help pass the time getting in the gate good luck!
