Cabela's

I went there on Monday. I think that this cabelas mini-store is totally overrated! The selection in the store wasn't as good as cabelas online and the online prices were way better for the item I was looking to buy. The item was $139 in the store and $99 on cabelas online. Even with the discounts at the event I was still better off buying it online. Plus now we have to pay sales tax. About the only good thing that I can see is that sportsmans now has competition

You do understand that you will pay the same price in the store as online right?! If its 99 bucks online....thats what you will pay in the store!

Really? Do you have to tell them at the register or something? I had no idea. The item was clearly marked on the shelf at $40 more than online.

How did you get in Monday? I thought it opened yesterday :). Cabelas honors the internet price and will price match anyone who has it priced lower. Anyway, I am going to drive down Sunday and engage in the madness, hopefully be able to pick up a few last minute items for our October hunts!

Not true. I returned something to El Paso Cabelas due to it being cheaper at Cabelas online. They do not automatically mark it down.

Monday was a friends and family of employees event. I was there and it was madness. It's a nice store but one of their new smaller footprint floor plans.

nmhunter, I don't know if they do this out your way but if I see something on their website cheaper I bring it to their attention and they have always made it right. I have to pay sale tax but evens out with shipping sometimes and you can have right then and there.

Hi Gritz, usually when a big box store comes to a new area they want to test the waters so they'll start with a smaller footprint store as you said. Here where Im live Sportsman's tried and failed on the IL side of the river. It was too small a store and very limited supply for me to shop there. We have both BP and Cabelas just 10 minutes apart from each other and only 35 minutes from my home so I trade there

Well I hope your area Cabelas is all you want it to be
