Unit 45 first time muley help

Hey guys, so I'm a student at UNM who's been hunting unit 45 in Pecos for the past two days muzzleloader and have yet to even see a buck. This is my first hunt ever so maybe I just don't know what I'm doing but I've been reading and watching videos every single night for months and now that I've drawn ain't even seeing anything but a bunch of does. All I'm looking for is one forked antler, no trophy, just some meat in the freezer. Anyone got any tips on where to go? I've been going to Davis Willow and hiking in but that hasn't produced jack. Maybe cow creek or Santa Fe above Hyde Park?

could I do the same? I am literally in the same boat, first time hunting in New Mexico and have a hunt in the same unit 4-8 NOV. All of my information has come from scouring the internet reading articles and studying maps. I figure I can't expect any real success until i get more experience in this neck of the woods.
