Anyone been out in 32,34, 36 or 37 lately and have a general location where I can find some Barbary for my son's hunt? I planned on scouting the past 2 weekends and it just didn't work out. I am hoping to get out there this weekend and rope one to a fence post for him to shoot opening morning, LOL!!! Any help with general location(s) would be extremely helpful and very much appreciated.

Scouting does no good for Barbs anyway. They are almost impossible to pattern. They will move miles in one day especially when shot at. Luck, luck and more luck is what u need to find one. Make sure u use a rangefinder that has angle calculation because your only shot may be at a very steep angle.

Best way to find them is to be on a vantage point before the sun comes up. The sun reflects off their back making it easier to see them. But make sure you know where you are going before hand or you may just walk off a cliff. Find the nastiest cliffs and you have a good chance in finding them.

Plan on putting lots of miles on the boots and many hours behind the glass. Sheep are nomadic and can move along way in no time. Alot of times you can go into an area and find tons of sheep, then nothing for the next few days. Find the nasty stuff and get away from the roads.

I'll just confirm what everyone else is saying. Barbs move around a lot. I once thought I had found barbary paridise when hiked about six miles around some private land to get to a particular area and saw over a hundred barbs in one day. But I went back to the same spot the following week and saw zero. That's just how it goes with barbs, so it's not you, it's them...

Oh--I would also recommend you take a GPS with a land owner chip. That's probably the most important thing you can do to keep from getting sideways with an irate landowner. You can't trust the fence lines in those units...

Thanks everyone. We were out again this weekend and didn't see anything again in Unit 32. My son is remaining resilient but I can tell it bugs him that we haven't seen a single one. He is a great kid though and we will keep at it. Thanks again everyone and I will keep updating as I can. Wish us luck! Lol
