Javelina

Hello all.
We have been hunting the statewide javelina tag. Have found good numbers of them in particular areas. The only problem is it is THICK. We have tried sitting trails, problem is there are so many different routes that it would be like hitting the lottery to be at the right one. Even got a call and tried that, to no avail. If you still hunt, you may be able to have some areas where there is a ten or so foot shooting lane, and you can catch glimpses, but no shot opportunities. There is no vantage point that is close enough for a shot. My question is, to anyone who has javelina experience, what in the world would you do? Seems like they are in the perfect spot to no be hunted, but every area we have found them near us to hunt, seems to be the same type of terrain. We have found them in three areas, and all three are close to the same.

You could try calling them in
Predator call.....

We have tried predator calling and a javelina call. Can hear them in the brush. Just won't come out. Thinking we need to find a new spot.

Take a big ladder, set it up by the bush. Throw rocks into the bush then take aim when they come running out.

If you do that ladder thing, take some video. I wanna see it "work."

I can't think of how that wouldn't work.... all seriousness, the brush is too big to scare them out with a rock, it's a few hundred yards by a few hundred yards. If we had more hunters it might be possible to push them out, but I'm not sharing my spot. Lol
