Finished Rocky Bighorn Mount

LAST EDITED ON Apr-11-18 AT 11:42AM (MST)[p]Well, here is the finished "Rio", my Once-in-a-Lifetime Rocky Mountain Bighorn Ram that was harvested August of 2017. I would like to thank Majors Wildlife Studio in Las Cruces, NM for the fabulous job they did on my mount. Not only are they exceptional with the mounts they build, they are extremely customer friendly. If you are looking for an outstanding taxidermist, you should give them a call.

That's beautiful. For a full body mount like that, how did you go about caping it? That must have been a labor of love.

LAST EDITED ON Apr-11-18 AT 03:24PM (MST)[p]Efnm- I just zipped him from the back of the head to the base of the tail and then worked from the rear forward. It did take some time, but I believe the results show it was worth it.

I went to that Taxidermy contest/meet/convention last weekend. I met Geno and learned a ton...like the hair wasn't slipping on the one side of that Barbary, that's the side he sleeps on so the rocks are always rubbing and its scar tissue where his horns always scratch.
