That's what I thought! Sweet....bummer is that I didn't plan on getting drawn so my Dad and I put in for 33 3rd in Colorado and that hunt is the same time. I'm guessing 2B should be a better hunt. I'm stoked! Thanks Mozey...

Congrats! I have hunted 2B 3 x with my son when was a JR hunter, but that was in Sept, so not sure if it is the same when you are going, what season?

Watch the forecast. 2b is always pretty good, but it gets really good if the weather is bad--starts the migration from Colorado.

I'm doing both hunts. :)
Going solo- New Mexico Nov 3-7
Going with Dad- Colorado Nov 3-11

I will head to NM early to scout and hopefully kill a buck first couple of days. Come home and pick up Dad for Colorado.

Devon...I'm sure the seasons do make a difference but any knowledge you can share would be great. Do you still have my email address? If you can email info and pics, that would be great.

Thanks for the other info guys. The research starts today.

I'd take the Colorado tag in a heartbeat.

Hey Steve,

I live up the road from you near SLO.

Why don't you have your dad fly into ABQ or Flagstaff or even Vegas. Seems like a lot of wasted hours driving back to the left coast only to turn around to drive another 18 hrs back to CO.

Hey bwht- Good to hear from you. I had thought about having my Dad fly out....it is a ton of extra driving. I map quested from Dulce, NM to Silt, CO at only 6.5 hours. That's nothing to drive. It would be worth it for me to stay in a hotel one night in between hunts to take a good, long hot shower. When hunting out of my pop up trailer, bucket showers are all I take. Having him fly into somewhere close to either hunting area is the best bet. I agree with you. Thanks for the insight.

Just looked at the route from NM to Silt, CO. Have him fly direct/non-stop from SLO to Denver. Denver would only be a 3 to 5 hr roundtrip delay for you. The cost of the ticket would save you about 31 hrs of driving!!

Thanks bwht!! That may be what we do. Thanks for the insight.
