Excited that my 12yo son was able to draw the November youth off range oryx tag! Let the homework begin! Will have to decide on a DIY or outfitted. Interested in any advice, info that folks are willing to share.

Congrats if you wanna an outfitted hunt for oryx pretty sure Derek Harris is a tough one to beat. He owns south peak guide service.

Thanks NMBOWHNTR27. As I do my homework I'll also definitely be taking into consideration going guided- its good to know which guides are being recommended.

I would call 505 Outfitters they kills some monsters. I'm doing my oil and Barbary sheep with them can't wait!! Go back in the threads from last year.They killed a monster bull off range with a mm member.

Try Chris at Compass West or Michael at Triple C Outfitters. A couple of the best in the business. All of their guides are stone cold killers. Do your own research, get an established outfitter with a pristine reputation like both of these guys.

Is a non res youth $1600 also? I can't find any info saying it isn't, so I guess it is?

Been awhile since I've been on here and had to re-register. Anyway, spend most of your time glassing if going DIY. Hunt the WSMR fence perimeter, and if possible, around the time frame an
on-range hunt is taking place (a day or two after is when there is some good action).

If you're seeing tracks that are fairly fresh, stay in the area. It's just a matter of time before you find a volunteer.

We have a youth Dec off range this year, so will be hunting pretty much the weekend after ya'll.
