My father drew Unit 59 for Antelope Buck, on the IRIS Bauler ranch. Looks like a total of 3800 acres with 640 Private deeded acres. Question when the license states ranch only does it include the state and BLM leased land along with the ranch or just the private deeded acres? Secondly, How the Antelope doing in the last couple years in this area?

You are entitled to hunt both deeded and state/BLM land on that specific ranch. Don't know anything about that specific ranch however, that unit as a whole has great antelope hunting. As you are aware, Having a RO only tag, you are restricted to hunting that ranch only. Good luck.

My son had a Unit 59 Antelope tag a couple years ago on the UTE Creek ranch. You will get a map from NM G&F that will show you the boundaries of your hunting area. Good Luck!!!

Toklat is right. Idk how much experience you have hunting with a public tag on a ranch so know that some ranchers will try and restrict you as far as what parts of the ranch you're allowed to hunt. Do not fall for their bs . They will do this to keep the better areas for the guys who pay big money to hunt the ranch.

How do you know your ranch assignment already? My wife drew antelope at all and we were told ranch assignments were not made until after the draw and we would be mailed the information?

JFB... congrats to your Dad. I'm stoked. I drew that same ranch. Looking at the A-plus info shows that there are 4 tags for that ranch (1 private , 3 public draw). 3850 acres is 6 square miles. If the ranch was an actual square, it would be a 2.5 mile X 2.5 mile square. Not a lot of area IMO for 4 hunters. I hope that means there are a decent number of antelope in the area.

My brother had a hunt near there on a slightly bigger ranch a few years ago. There was an ok number of antelope on the ranch. We had a couple of unsuccessful stalks in the morning but he was able to take a buck late in the day. Some of the animals we stalked moved to adjacent ranches as they felt pressure but since there were hunters on those adjacent ranches, they or other antelope drifted back in the afternoon which is when he got his.

My daughter hunted this ranch two years ago. There were 4 tags that year but there were only us and another hunter on the ranchduring our hunt. We were able to stay apart but I could see it getting crowded with all four hunters.

I have a kml file of the ranch boundaries. if you want a copy, PM your contact info.

I PM you thank you
