I just seen on our news about the fires around Cimarron. I hope all my brothers & sisters here on MM are safe and sound.

Yeah Joe we can only hope our monsoon comes sooner than normal. May God keep our friends up North safe from these fires.

Hope everyone is safe. It is scary dry here. The Pecos is flowing at 19 cubic feet. In a normal year it is around 250. Hope it starts raining soon.

Hi guys. I don't want anyone to think I'm putting more concerns on big game tags then the
real issues of loss and the safety of family and friends, obliviously the later is way more important.
But what happens if you are not able to hunt because of the natural causes?

It's pretty horrible the town is in jeopardy, two years ago we had a bad fire at our ranch where my dad lives and I grew up it was scary had to evacuate animals and all.

Icy , I got all my tags yesterday , I'm most excited about my son's oryx and my Barb. Antler growth for deer and elk are going to SUCK!!!! Unless we get rain soon.

Today the smoke is blowing right at me & it is very smokey in Pie Town/Quemado area.
FS said there was 58 unattended illegal fires left in the Jemez over the Memorial weekend,over a hundred in the SFNF...the Buzzard fire was an illegal campfire left.
Come on people,really?

Everyone should have to take the leave no trace certification course , and still that would not be enough. There are very idiotic people being born into the world at a higher volume than ever before..

You?re spot on... I'm really hoping we see some rain so we can finish out strong. You know my unit... im just out there to shoot a branch antler bull. However I've got an extremely good opportunity to kill a good mule deer this year and the lack of rain is not helping. My only hope is that they hit drinkers (this is a 45K acre ranch)
Time for me to start brushing up on my mule deer judging...

Can?t wait to see how you guys do on the barb and oryx hunt. I know guys will get some killer animals! Looking forward to seeing the pictures.

Yessir, I'm sure you kill one! I know where you'll be! Saw a trail cam pic of a good one there ?
You'll know where I'll be, I'm sure there will be ssome big ones,just not to their potential. They packed so late this year if it would start raining they'd be just fine.
I'm sure you can pick up on the mule deer, I to FINALLY drew a great muley tag and I can not wait.
I've never drawn a Barb tag so I'm pumped! If it's not a big ram I won't shoot, I don't care for the meat so if I have to eat 75lbs of summer sausage it's gotta be worth it ??

It's unbelievable how little people pay attention and how careless they are. Saw that the buzzard fire was from an abandoned campfire, and the reports of how many fires were found over memorial day weekend. Few people ruining it for everyone else and doing $Millions in damage.

Hopefully they are able to get some of these fires under control soon and get some rain early this year!

It'd be just my luck to draw the tag I got only to have it be the driest year ever.
