I got to hit the Pecos last weekend. Mom lives in Santa Fe so we went up to visit. I landed 16 trout and missed twice that many by 10 am. Got hot then and the bite shut down. I got on the water at 6:00 am and had it all to myself. Caught about 5 browns in the 10-13 range. About 5 in the sardine size lol. I also caught 5-6 rainbows about 10-12. Caught most of them early on a hopper on top and as the sun came up they started hitting my bead headed Prince Nymph. Had to put it 24 inches below my hopper the hotter it got. It was a blast.

The kids got into the act later in the day. These 5 were the only ones we kept.
