How's it going Stick throwers?

Not very good here in 23, not bugling. Heard 1 bugle 3 days ago. Happened after I bumped them off their bed and he was calling his girls back. Never saw them. Got 60 yards from a spike and let him walk. In a couple of days, he may go into the freezer if things don't change anytime soon. Tough 3rd choice hunt.

The big one let me see him for about 60 seconds, but now that I won't look at anything else he's gotten really shy...

Been waiting for this season so bad since my arrow bounced off this guy at 8 yards last year.
2 of my sons have muzzle in unit 36- so living it vicariously

Been having a blast. Epic day today. Almost closed the deal on a 320. Have passed on at least 10 smaller bulls. He was still by himself. Several herd bulls have been 5x5s or 290 type bulls so far.

Well it's official, got skunked here in 23. Hardest hunt I have been on. Was my 3rd choice just to have a hunt. Game warden said that he only knows about 1 successful in this unit for the first archery hunt. Just starting to heat up. Should be good 2nd archery hunt. Good luck.

Tag soup here also. Was epic. In elk constantly, just could not close with a big bull. Passed on many.

It's starting to heat up. Was stalking a 330 bull with a Ultimate Preditor decoy last night but one of the smaller 280 bulls that was with him busted me before I could get a shot. Someday...

Took a few sticks to bring this one down, Shiras in southern CO last week, really fun hunt. Got him on day 6 after many close calls with another large bull.

>Congrats on a very successful elk
>camp! I like the spike.
>I got one very similar
>ha ha. Very good eating
>for sure

Thank you! In a normal situation I'd have probably passed on a spike day 2 of the hunt, but I was having such a great time with a buddy of mine. It was the first time I actually had someone hunting with me and we were having a ball. Around 4pm we were eating candy and talking about our day over a magical secret spring we found.
I heard a few sticks crunch and saw two spikes coming in. My buddy grabbed his camera and I grabbed my bow haha
One of my favorite hunts ever.

>Wow, quite the variation in terrain.
> Congrats!

The neat thing about where I hunt is you can be in thick timber, oaks, aspen thickets, pi?on and juniper flats, all within roughly 20 minutes and be in elk at all of them. It's definitely neat because you can always be trying something new.
