I just got returned from a nice trip with my buddy from NE New Mexico.

We had fun.

I have a question.

Do you people want whitetail deer to take over everything you have?

If you don't kill them, they will do exactly what I just proposed for ever.

I love whitetail deer.

They are going to rob you

Doesn't sound like u love whitetails too much. whitetails and muleys are found in different habitats for the most part in union county. I don't see this as that much of a problem. There are plenty places in the west where the two coexist

Eastern Whitetails have been in this state for a long time at least 30-40 years that I know of. In the Sacramento?s and NE part of the state, don't think they will take over but they are spreading.

Heck whitetails are better than no deer let them come!!

I knew I would have folks with IQ?s floating in the upper 60?s jumping on this.

To those of you left, that don't have cheap wine still on your breath....

What do you think ??

I've seen eastern whitetails east of Tucumcari for 20+ years. Couse have been mixed in with mulies around the Gila for even longer. I don't believe our shortage of mulies has anything to do with Whitetails. I honestly think that the whitetail population in proportion to our hunting pressure I do not see them spreading like feral hogs.

Us New Mexicans welcome other species to hunt in our state. We have Ibex, oryx, Barbary sheep which all live free range in our state. We are the only state in the country that offers hunts for these species that don't take place on a ranch. Potential for a descent population of eastern whitetail too, hell yea! They aren't feral hogs, their numbers are small and ranges are limited. I doubt they will get the opportunity to take over. Our hurting mule deer population has nothing to do with whitetails. As mentioned before, mulies and couse deer have coesisted around the Gila for years. And in those areas the mule deer are in greater numbers.

I just got returned? High IQ there buddy. LMAO

I would love that too as long as our muleys are not affected. Don't know enough to state wether the two species effect each other.

there is good evidence of WT on the Rio Grande all the way up to Bernalillo. I have actually seen them in the Los Lunas area. would love to see more of them here.
