Archery Hunt Split

Do people like the current split? Personally I preferred the old breaking it up in 3 seasons, it seems there are way too many people out at a time with the way they are running it now.

Agreed... 16A looked like a mini city for the first hunt.

I'd prefer the way it was, one season for 24 days. When it starts to get good, the first timers are tired of it, the mid timers have shot a small bull or cow and by the end, the old timers now how good it gets.

By that time, you almost have the unit to yourself.

Heck I would like to see it changed from mid Sep to mid Oct. With temp staying in the 80s in Sep, the elk are barely going crazy now. Lucky for the muzzle hunters they are knocking them down as we speak.

I think they should extend the 2nd hunt to the 30th. So the 1st will be the 1st thru the 15th and the 2nd from the 16 thru 30.

I heard a lot of hunters like you say that the muzzle loaders are going to hit it prime tiime. I'm yet to hear one person that was in the woods mid September say it's better right now then it was then. I was out there mid September and again the past 3-4 days. It's not even the same world out there. September was way way better in my experience this year.
