Hello, My daughter has the rifle hunt after the youth hunt which begins this weekend. Any body from around there know if the deer have started to come in from Colorado yet? I 'll be headed up 2 days before her hunt begins to look around. Thank you for any replies.

Wolf Creek showed 9" yesterday and 12" right now. Upper San Juan, Middle Creek, abd Weminuche show about the same.

A game and fish officer told me once they collared a doe from Eul Point one Jan and by April/May she was in South Fork - Creed area.

After the storm moves through later this week, I imagine they will start to move but may not be into NM until Pagosa gets hit a little more. Chamita at 8,400' only shows 1", which is due east of 2B Carracas Rim.

Weather has no impact on the migration. Most of the CO Deer don't get to 2b/2c until after Thanksgiving but keep your fingers crossed can't hurt.

Thank you for the replies. If anyone would be willing to share what the deer numbers looked like on the youth hunt when they get back we would really appreciate it.

I'm more than willing to share what we see on my daughters hunt when we get back for the hunters after us.

Thank you

We are hunting the youth 2B this weekend. Right now, they are all definately resident deer.

I agree, this storm will have little impact on deer migrating further south from CO.

Pretty sure the boundry is south of the wash, below Chosa, Vigas, etc...

Might want to check, unless there are two Gasbuggy roads.

FR 314 aka "Gasbuggy Road" does go through Cereza aka "Carrizo" near Ahogadero, so yeah, I can see how there is a Gasbuggy road in 2C...

I was gonna try somewhere else, but if there's big bucks over on Gasbuggyroad, maybe I'll mozey over there, with my buck bugle and doe calls. Got a new muffler on the 4wheeler so I probably don't need to shut it down when calling for the really big bucks.

On a flight to New Mexico as I type. Hoping to see some deer and to have an enjoyable hunt. Hoping that the weather stays dry so that I don't have to deal with the mud roads too.

Wish me luck!
