New gun law for NM

New liberal gun laws... What is determined as dangerous? Come home and tell someone you should kick there ass ....guns gone ? What ever they want to be considered dangerous person ... guns gone . I know a guy in a different state that was going through a divorce, his wife called the police and said she felt threatened and they took all his rifles and handguns. That was over 5 years ago and he still hasn't got them back.



Controversial gun control bill passes House, heads to Senate

SANTA FE, N.M. - The state House of Representatives passed the controversial House Bill 83 Wednesday in Santa Fe. The measure will now head to the Senate for consideration.

The measure is known as the "Extreme Risk Firearm Protection Order Act."

It would allow law enforcement to take firearms away from people who are considered an immediate threat to themselves or others.

Supporters of the bill say it could decrease the number of suicides in New Mexico but opponents say it violates second amendment rights. In fact, two New Mexico counties have declared themselves "Second Amendment Sanctuary Counties."

The resolution in Socorro and Quay counties says the county sheriffs can decide whether they want to enforce the law or not.
What determines your a danger ? Their foot is in the door and it will never close now. Only gun violence I see is in ABQ but they give them pretty much a free run of crime so we now will all pay for it


The New Mexico Sheriff's Association released a statement about House Bill 83 saying, "It violates due process and puts law enforcement in a more dangerous situation and does nothing to protect citizens."

Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham issued a statement applauding the House's action on the bill.

"I am proud to support Representatives Daymon Ely and Joy Garratt and the New Mexico State House in passing House Bill 83," said Gov. Lujan Grisham. "We have a responsibility to do everything in our power to ensure the safety of New Mexicans, and this important, common sense gun violence prevention measure would undoubtedly save lives. New Mexico leaders have a duty to take action, and I applaud the House for doing so."

In fact, the Sheriff's office can arrest a gov'r...

These kinds of laws violate Constitutional rights of due process, no matter what.

Consideration. Maybe we should claim SHE is dangerous to the entire well being and sovereignty of the State of NM and have her subjected to the same radical laws she has endorsed!

We r going in the other direction here in Oklahoma. Just approved open carry with no permits required for open or concealed.

I think what will really happen at the end of the day is the dems will ruin all chances for themselves next election.

Never thought I'd see this @&$? In NM but the liberal voters put the liberal politicians in there. I don't think 3/4 of the people care what kind of liberal laws they come up with.
